OUR HISTORY : this centre was created in the beginning of the 1980s in order to encourage university-level exchange with our Canadian colleagues in different fields of the social sciences.
OBJECTIVES : our centre is part of a national network that benefits from the support of the Canadian Embassy in France. It organizes or co-organizes meetings and conferences which generate and disseminate knowledge about change in Canadian society. It aquires books on this subject and supports projects setting up exchange between the two countries (research funding, study-visits).
To sum up, Grenoble’s Centre for Canadian Studies is an interdisciplinary crossroads for meetings and information which favours exchange between the Grenoblois university community and its counterparts in Canada.
Its administrating board is made up of lecturers and researchers from Université Grenoble Alpes, as well as a few non-academic members interested in Canada.
